Rhythm Blast

The original concept of ‘Rhythm Blast’ goes back to 2000 when Dave Brighton sought to provide a show of all Up tempo Doo Wop and Jump-Blues that was not being aired on any Station at the time, the nearest you would have heard on the internet was from Blues, Doo Wop and oldies stations that were playing slow music.
Dave wanted to provide something different and energetic that rocked all the way .

He started Playing Rock n Roll in the early 1970’s gaining his own equipment to play at his DJ events.
He formed the Sheffield & District Vintage Rock n Roll Society in the UK where he was resident DJ at the Broughton Inn, Sheffield and organized RnR events at Clifton Hall Rotherham, UK and other venues in the area.

He also was involved in video recording the Annual Skegness RnR event at the Pavilion and side activities in the UK and played as DJ at many venues in the North of UK having a long fifteen year residency at the Birdwell Club and then the Dale Tavern for several years, both in Barnsley, S. Yorkshire UK.

He attained his Community Radio Broadcasting qualifications as a presenter while at YMCA Radio Barnsley in the UK.
He has been with various internet stations including Northern Broadcasting, destination Doo Wop and Gold Radio for a short period.

Dave is also the Owner of Rockabilly Radio.
