Rockin Dutchman

Welcome to the Legends of the Rocking Dutchman

The program that brings you the Rhythm & Blues of the twenties, thirties, forties and fifties.
In their own Juke joints and dance places, African Americans played their music that was banned from radio stations and that only sold in record stores in black neighborhoods.

The music provided the DNA for Rock n Roll and all later kinds of popular music, and then it was to be forgotten.
But not on this program, where Rocking Dutchman showcases that influential and important music, the Pre-Rock n Roll Rhythm & Blues.

The Rocking Dutchman, real name is Koenraad G. Kamphuijs, though that is an unpronounceable name for most Americans, so in this show he would rather stick to his moniker.
He Lives in Rijswijk, Holland, every now and then he spends time his family in Sebring, Florida.
He is a great fan of pre-rock ‘n roll R&B and a beginner player on the tenor saxophone.

His activities on a R&B-related Yahoo mailinglist brought him in contact with “Soulman” Jan Lisewski, a volunteer DJ of WSLR of Sarasota, Florida,
A guest appearance on Jan’s show led to several others and on one of those shows interest was invited to go into radio syndication.

You may e-mail Koenraad at the radio program’s email address.
